‘3D Visualiser’ is a relatively new term. Historically architects, interior designers and property developers would rely on artists and technical drawings to get their ideas and designs across to their clients and customers. With the advancement of computers and 3D software becoming more effective and increasingly available, The 3D visualiser was born and quickly started making positive in-roads into the property and design industries.

We are fortunate to have a fantastic team of professional and talented 3D visualisers who work closely with our clients to ensure we are creating exactly what is needed and wanted. All of our 3D artists are well aware of how different styles of images are used for different purposes. A planning application visual, for example, wouldn’t be as glossy and polished as a marketing image. Every 3D visualisation, design and property is unique, we approach every project with that in mind and find out what the desired look and feel is before starting.
The 3D Visualiser’s Job
To get started on a project our clients will send over plans, elevations and a schedule of materials. Along with these might also come, mood boards, sketches and sample images for reference. Here is an example of something we might receive.
The 3D visualizer will use these details to create 3D models of all the separate elements which will be in the scene. This includes the space (walls, windows, floor and ceiling), all the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) and any other items. These are then positioned in the scene and covered in a white material. Cameras are set up and ‘greys’ are sent to our client for comments.
Once the client has chosen their preferred views the 3D visualiser will add the textures and lighting to start making the image look realistic. Again this is presented to our client to make any necessary design changes. We call these ‘markups’ but they have many other names, ‘redlines’ ‘comments’ feedback’.
With the changes made, the 3D visualiser sends through the final issue. It has been a long journey and many hours have been spent modelling, lighting, texturing and emailing back and forth. This is now the image the customer can use for marketing, design or presentation to their clients.
